Zouma has done a ligament in the back of his knee but not his ACL out for 8 week’s
Absolute disaster but I suppose if your a glass half full type it’s not his crutiate and he’s not out for the season

Norf - what’s your source for that?

Re: Injuries
Even a grade 1 pcl strain takes 9 weeks before being able to run, 12 week’s minimum before returning to sport.

I hope the club reveal the injury tomorrow and it’s no more than 6-8 weeks. Still gonna be a tough run of games down to 2 CB.

One of my mates knows rice he told him.
Asked if he’s done his acl he said no out for six weeks though.

Pedro - "world's best centre-half currently playing in midfield" - What???

No, we have the world's best midfielder, who began his career as a centre-half. Different thing altogether.

Re: Injuries
Would take 6-8 weeks after the initial worries.

It’s about as solid a source that you can get that he’s out for 8 weeks

Re: Injuries
Brilliant news seeing that initial reports had him out for the season.

If we bring another top quality centre back, as has been rumoured, then we have enough to get by.

We're idiots if we don't get a centre back, left back, and striker in the January window.

Re: Injuries
Standard says just now that it's a "hamstring tendon injury". So how long does that take to recover from usually?

Fifth Column 12:28 Tue Dec 7
Re: Injuries
And Ben Johnson has low grade hamstring strain so presumably will be back quicker than Zouma

Low grade injury? Shocking! Moyes out! I demand world class grade injuries.

I'd still look for left footed cb. No point in signing Tarkowski imo

Sullivan on 31st Jan

"it's always incredibly hard to get players in this time of the year, we tried"

We need players lined up to be signed or loaned on Jan 1st

Re: Injuries
Hamstring tendons can be 6-8 weeks as Don and Norf reported.

Depends on how severe.

Obviously it will be worked on every day and Zouma will get the best rehab but it’s getting it repaired, getting it strong and getting fitness up enough to get back to match pace. I reckon early Feb H to Watford is his come back game target. We got Man U away on the 22nd Jan but an international break after that. I reckon the extra 2 weeks will be needed for extra recovery, so he don’t come in and agitate it again.

Miss about 12 games.

Re: Injuries
summer, is expected to be out for six to 12 weeks. His absence will increase the need for Moyes to sign a centre-back in January. Craig Dawson and Issa Diop are the only fit centre-backs in West Ham’s squad.
A West Ham statement said: “West Ham United can confirm that Kurt Zouma sustained a hamstring tendon injury during Saturday’s Premier League victory against Chelsea. A scan on Monday revealed the damage and the 27-year-old French international defender has already started his recovery programme at Rush Green under the supervision of the medical team.”

West Ham are without the left-back Ben Johnson for up to a month with hamstring injury, although Aaron Cresswell is close to returning from a back injury.

Re: Injuries
Hopefully thats a realistic 6-8 weeks and not a legacy west ham medical update where week = months in the real world.

Re: Injuries
I read somewhere ( may have been old soak Hughs site ) that no surgery required either. 8 weeks to get back to some form of training and probably 10 - 12 weeks ( 3 months ) before he gets out on the pitch. So March earliest we will see him available again. We will have to get a CB unless Baptiste or Alese are that highly rated and seen as ready which seems unlikely.

As mentioned, need to be ready to move first week to get someone in but when has that ever happened. To do that means paying over the odds and that is not the Sullivan way. He waits to the last day to get a few extra quid off once the selling or loaning club realises they have no other option.

Wouldn't mind the lad Salisu at Soton if we are spending money.
